GV II

House, now two shops. Early C18; altered and subdivided late
C19, with shopfronts altered in C20. Front of stucco with
timber doorcase; rear of orange brick in English garden wall
bond; pantile roof with rendered stack.
EXTERIOR: 2-storey 2-window front. Shopfront to No.7
incorporates earlier front doorcase of plain pilasters with
moulded impost band and cornice hood on slender consoles:
replacement door and fanlight in round-arched architrave. No.6
has 16-pane sash on first floor, No.7 12-pane sash. Raised
band above windows. Rear: 3-storey, 1-bay gabled front, with
4-pane sash beneath segmental arch on each floor.
INTERIOR: No.6 retains one flight of original staircase
between first and second floors, with close string, turned
balusters and moulded handrail ramped-up to square newels with
attached half balusters. No.7 has exposed beams of heavy
scantling on ground floor.
