SE 66 SW SUTTON ON THE FOREST -

5/8 Low Roans

Farmhouse. Probably early C18, altered C19 and C20. Painted brick in English
garden wall bond (4:1); pantile roof. 2 storeys with attic, 3 bays. Central
C20 part-glazed door under flat brick arch with the circular ends of 2 iron
tie-rods above. Outer bays each have a C20 16-pane sash to each floor; central
bay has a 12-pane sash above door with an 8-pane window to its right, all
windows have flush wood architraves. Stepped and cogged eaves. Raised brick
verges. End stacks. Returns have tumbled-in brickwork to gables. C20 rear
outshut, not of special interest, is on site of former rear ranges.
