Very fine C18-frontage on earlier house. C17 gable visible at side.
Two storeys, rough rendered. Seven windows. Centre part of three windows
breaks forward slightly under parapet with two stone finials, with moulded
band in place of cornice. Window frames of moulded stone with moulded
cills. Central door in similar frame, pulvinated frieze and modillion
cornice. The ground floor windows (except for right wing) have been converted
in late C18 to three large Venetian style windows with Ionic mullions.
One-storey later addition to the left. Rear wing in courtyard of early
C18. New range of dormers. Three windows, plain stone surrounds, one
blocked window. Two doors in moulded stone surrounds with triple keystone.
Notable as the home of Frances L'Anson, the "Lass of Richmond Hill" in
whose honour the song was composed.
