NZ 1055 CONSETT FRONT STREET

(East side) Ebchester 17/54 Church House 4/8/75 GV II House. C17 with C18 alterations. Irregular coursed squared sandstone with ashlar dressings and quoins. Welsh slate roof with stone gable copings on curved kneelers, and yellow brick chimneys. North front to garden 2 storeys, 3 windows. Irregular ground-floor fenestration with late C19 and plain sashes under flat stone lintels; 12-pane first-floor sashes have flat stone lintels and sills. Roof lowered, with gables remaining to original height; end chimneys. Full-width outshut on south front under catslide roof has large quoins. Interior: massive chamfered beams, broadly spaced; square newel stair, with flat handrail on stick balusters, in outshut.
