Shops with accommodation above, derelict at the time of survey. C.1830 in
Classical Style. Built of stock brick in Flemish bond (no.96 painted)with
cement details, roof concealed by parapet. 3 storeys 6 windows; 12 pane
sashes in reveals with rubbed brick voussoirs. Parapet is ramped up in the
centre like a pediment with moulded cornice and large bracket to left, the
corresponding bracket on the right hand side missing. Double bracelets under
the pediment. Cement band under the cornice and over the 1st floor window.
No. 96 has a late C19 shopfront with tiled pilasters and brackets with scrolled
capitals. No 97 has a later C19 shopfront retaining earlier brackets. No. 98
has a C19 shopfront with brackets and modillion eaves cornice. Right rear entry
retains original 6 flush panelled door. Rear elevation has gables and 12 - pane
cambered sashes.
