Description


1. 1615 TOUT HILL (South Side) Boundary Wall and gutter flanking Tout Hill on South Side ST 8623 1/225 II 2. Stone wall and gutter run North-west down Tout Hill as far as corner opposite Old Parsonage and then run slightly South-west as far as Nos 9, 10 and 11 Tout Hill. Wall of medieval origin although renewed and repaired in places [See RCHM] Ashier and rough ashlar. About 6 ft high or higher inputs, stepped plinths on North-west Side; in places of these rurd panelled. On South-west side, wall is thiner and probably of more recent origin. Gutter lined with stone setts runs close to wall, all the way round the hill.
