Barn. Mid C17 for Redgrave Park Estate, altered C19 and C20. Timber frame on
brick base, weatherboarded. Steeply pitched corrugated asbestos roof. 8 bays
with a small 1 bay extension to end furthest from house. C19 gabled midstreys
project from 2nd and 6th bays, linked by a red brick lean-to addition.
Formerly had large cart doorways opposite midstreys. Taller brick base to
rear. Interior: altered close studding with mid-rails and reverse curved
arched braces, jowled posts with some original arched braces to tie beams.
Roof has lower butt purlins, upper purlins clasped by collars and halved
principals, angled queen struts from tie beams to principals. Added bay has
through tension bracing, double staggered butt purlins. C20 accretions are
not of special interest.
