Surgery, built mid C16 as a 3 cell house. 2 storeys. 3 windows. Timber-
framed with early C19 roughcast plaster and broad plaster bands around
openings. Plaintiled roof, hipped at the right-hand end, with axial chimney
of red brick. To right are 6-light C19 casements with transomes. Other
windows are mid C19 large-pane sashes. A bay shop window to left of c.1800
has a flat leaded roof with modillioned cornice; this continues over the 6-
panelled door adjacent. Good main entrance doorway also of c.1800. 6-
panelled door, the lower panels fielded and the upper pair glazed. Moulded
and eared architrave and entablature with moulded pediment. The main framing
members are exposed and heavy, with broad chamfers. One of a pair of 4-
centred arched service doorways survives. Complete crownpost roof; the posts
at the closed trusses have plank braces, but the square crownposts at the open
trusses are completely unbraced. In the hall area is some wainscotting of
c.1600.
