3/115 Coleford Gospel Hall including
wall adjoining to south

Gospel Hall, probably a house originally. Probably late C18-early C19, converted
in late C19. Plastered cob and rubble; stone rubble stack topped with C19 brick;
slate roof.
Gospel Hall with meeting rooms above. Stack serving small vestry at left (north)
end. 2 storeys.
3-window front to first floor only comprising central late C19 horned 16-pane sash
flanked by C20 casements without glazing bars. Towards left end is late C19 4-
panel door with fanlight over, missing its glazing bars and with large late C19
gabled and slate-roofed hood which has plain bargeboards with a plain pendant and
at the apex a ridge tile with scrolled finial and the hood rests on heavy shaped
brackets. Low-pitch roof runs continuous with adjoining Cove Cottage (q.v.) to
left and is hipped to right. Interior not inspected.
From front corner of right end and high plastered cob wall with slate coping
extends southwards along roadside as far as Rose Cottage (q.v.) and includes a
large doorway.
Included for group value. Coleford is a remarkably unspoilt and picturesque
hamlet.
