Old Shepherd's

Formerly two cottages, now one. Later C17 extended south with hip, with exten-
sive refenestration and modernisation. Rubble stone walls and dressed stone
walls, colourwashed. Thatch roof, hipped at south end and gabled at north end.
Rebuilt brick stacks on south hip apex and on north gable end. 1½ storeys.
4 windows, irregular fenestration, mainly 2 light C20 wood casements with
glazing bars, wood cills. Eyebrow dormers, are 2 light wood casements with
glazing bars. Front door, C20 plank with one glazed light. C20 porch. Rear
elevation irregular fenestration of 5 windows, same types, and 2 eyebrow dormers
over. Interior: open fireplaces in north end room, C18 brick jambs with bread
oven in right jamb, and taking out hole. Segmental chamfered wood lintel. Open
fireplace in south end, brick jambs rendered and wood lintel chamfered. Bread
oven in right jamb. Ceiling beams straight chamfered. (R.C.H.M. Dorset II,
