Farmhouse and barn. House: mid C16 with major C17 alterations, C18 and C19 repairs and
additions. Timber frame largely replaced with brick. Pantile roofs with off-centre brick ridge stack
and truncated end stack. Barn: C18 or early C19: brick with corrugated roof. House: 3-unit
lobby-entry plan, the mid C16 house with original stack recast C17 with renewed roof using the
original cambered ties. 2 storeys and attic; 2-window range of 3-light leaded casements over 2-light
and 3-light casements flanking panelled door. Lean-to projecting forward on right. Rear facade
a 3-window range of 3-light casements over 2 3-light casements flanking a 4-panel door all under
brick arches with cambered lintels and storeyband. Door and 2-light window to right.
INTERIOR. Roll-moulded spine and transverse beams in former hall and parlour. Cl 6 stack with
a fragment of an original bressumer but much altered Stack side star with 3 C17 turned balusters.
Former parlour chamber with blocked 7-light window with roll-moulded mullions. Service end
divided from hall by a former stud partition replaced with brick. Wide chamfered beams.
Transverse joist atjunction with C17 brick rebuilding or extension with ogee and nicked chamfer
stops. The original mid C16 6-bay roof with cambered ties linked by spine bridging beams with
wide chamfers was recast mid to late C17 with straight wind braces, butt purlins and collars. Barn:
3-bay barn was added on the left gable end and incorporated into the farmhouse with doorways
on ground and 1st floors leading to cartshed with room over. Roof of arch-braced ties from
re-used wall posts
