Late C18. 2 storeys and attic, red brick. Mansard old tile roof swept out
over eaves. 6 dormers with segmental heads, sashes, glazing bars intact.
On 1st floor coupled window to left and 5 other single sash windows, the central
false and one without glazing bars, block sills, flat brick arches. On ground
floor: No 14 has a mid C19 shop front of window and glazed door, no glazing
bars, framed with panelled pilasters plain frieze and cornice. Nos 15 and
16 have symmetrical shop fronts of circa 1830. Formerly both had 3 light
windows (drained heads on colonettes) and glazed outer door of similar design.
The window of No 16 however is now plate glass. Both are framed with Doric
pilasters, frieze and cornice.
Nos 17 and 18 each have one window and recessed door of 6 fielded panels with
arched radiating fanlight, blind in No 18.
Nos 1 to to 18 (consec) and all the listed buildings on the South West Side of
Market Place form a group.
