Pair of early Cl9 houses set back from corner of Hillworth Road and Long
Street qv. 2 storeys red brick with rendered front to Hillworth Road, on
projecting painted stone plinth. Moulded stone cornice and blocking course.
Hipped slate roof. Hillworth Road front: 2 windows each to lst floor, recessed
sashes, glazing bars intact, slightly cambered heads, block sills. Ground
floor: window to No 1 only, large sash with glazing bars. Doors placed
under inner windows, recessed of 6 fielded panels. Semi-circular fanlights
with radial glazing bars. Architrave surrounds, stepped imposts to arches
with keystones over. Cellar gratings and door scrapers.
Side elevation to Long Street of No 1: cornice returned without blocking
course. lst floor: 2 sash windows, glazing bars intact, segmental brick
arches. 1 similar window ground floor left and C19 canted bay to right
of 3 lights, later glazing bars, moulded cornice and flat lead roof. Later
C19 alterations to side and rear of No 2.
