House. Circa 1740, altered. Brick, mostly stuccoed. Slated hipped roof to parapet.
2 storeys, plus attic and basement. 'T' shaped plan with circa 1900 extension
between original wings to rear, and 1 storey entrance area between wings to front.
2 bay advanced wing to left facing road with 2 window 1 storey entrance area to
right with round-headed entrance to right return (fanlight removed for restoration,
1988). Square-headed windows, sashes, some unhorned, glazing bars and small panes;
c1900 moulded cornices to windows. Stacks to right side of left wing and to right
gable return of right wing. Interior: dining room retains original sunk panelling
from floor to ceiling, plus dado rail, dado panelling, dentil cornice, moulded
timber fire surround and panel with carved surround above; also original door and
window architraves and panelled soffits to windows. Various other early features
survive in the house, including same C18 door architraves and doors, a simple C18
partition in the attic and marble c1800 fireplaces to living room and bedroom.
