The following building shall be added:


1849-1/10000 Birkin Mausoleum in
Wilford Hill Cemetery


Mausoleum; Built 1921. Portland stone with bronze fittings.
Classical style. Designed in the form of a small temple. The west
front has 2 fluted Roman Doric columns supporting an entablature
and pediment with acroterion. The opening has a pair of low
bronze gates. The east front is similar to the west, though with
plain pilasters and full-height bronze gates. The interior has
3 panels on eitherside with bronze plaques, that on the left at
the east end now missing, to the various members of the Birkin
family buried in the nearby vault. Plastered barrel vaulted
This mausoleum was erected in 1921 to the memory of the Birkin
family lace manufacturers of Nottingham. Here are buried Stanley
and Margret Birkin and their four children Thomas, Henry, Ida and
Archie. Henry Birkin, known as Tim was one of the famous 'Bentley
Boys' who successfully competed at Le Mans for the Bentley Racing
