An early C19 red brick house. 2 storeys. 3 window range, double-hung sashes with
glazing bars, in painted reveals. A C20 central gabled porch projects on the front
and there are C20 additions on the east and west ends. Roof tiled, hipped, with
brick dentil eaves course.

Writtle shall be amended to read Highwood.
