Park Gate House

Cottage. C17 with later additions and alterations. Roughcast concealing
timber frame on rendered plinth; slate roof. One storey and attic;
2 framed bays. Two mid-C20 casements to ground floor with contemporary
flat-roofed dormers directly above in bottom of roof slope; position
of former doorway and gabled porch visible to centre. Internal red
brick end stacks and exposed single-purlin ends to left and right.
Entrance now through C20 panelled door to left gable end. Interior:
not inspected but noted as having timber framed square panels to left
gable end and to internal cross-walls, including one running along
axis of house; chamfered spine beams and joists and rebuilt inglenook
fireplaces. Late C19 or C20 roughcast lean-to to left-gable end is not
of special architectural interest.
