Pair of houses in row. Probably C17, refronted in c18 and C19.
Coursed limestone rubble; No 47 fronted in ashlar; stone slate
roof to No 47, artificial stone slate roof to No 49; rear lateral
stack to No 47 and right end stack to No 49. Each of 2-room plan.
of equal heights to eaves, No 47 of 2 storeys and No 49 of one
storey with attic. No 47 has doorway to through passage on left
and early C20 two and 3-light casements. No 49 has central mid
C20 door and flanking 2-light stone-mullioned windows, with mid
C20 casements to gabled dormers. Late C20 rear wings. Interior:
No 47 has chamfered stone jambs to lateral fireplace with reused
bressumer; plain and chamfered beams and quarter-turn stair with
winders. No 49 has chamfered ground-floor beam and stop-chamfered
bressumer over open fireplace with stop-chamfered jambs. Tie
beams exposed of 3-bay roof (not accessible) which extends into
roof of No 47.
