Former barn complex, dated 1744 of re-used medieval timber, with C19
outbuildings and C20 entrance and reception area, now a golf club house. Timber
framed and weatherboarded. Brick plinth. Red plain tiled roofs. Lower level
range to north (left) attacheds to barn qv. 3/189. Main barn with roof half
hipped to left. 2:2 window range of long vari-light square leaded casements,
C20 south west extension with 1:5 range. Gabled midstrey to east. Now with
inserted ceiling. Queen strut, pegged, staggered side purlin roof. One stud to
east and west walls carved TF 1744 relating to Thomas Fitch. To the east an
attached 2 bay cart lodge of re-used medieval timber with pegged side purlin
roof, south east a C19 building of 4 bays, side purlin, king post roof with
original iron ties. The C20 south west gabled entrance of matching materials.
All good of their type and forming an attractive group with the Warren House.
Interesting also as a good example of early C20 barn conversion. qv. 3/188 and
189.
