10/180 Barden Aqueduct

Aqueduct. C1858. Rock-faced stone and ashlar. 3 segmental-arches
on tall piers with cavetto moulded imposts, margin-dressed rock-faced
voussoirs aligned to the courses, punched-dressed intrados. Hollow-
chamfered band and coping to ashlar parapet. Dressed abutments
surmounted by cast-iron railings, the bars with spearhead finials.
The survey tower, Bolton Road, (west side, off), Cringles (q.v.) was used in
construction of the aqueduct.
