This is one of the earliest Ventnor buildings. An early C19 recasing of an older
cottage or farmhouse as a Gothic "cottage orné", Half-H plan. 2 storeys stone
rubble with ashlar quoins. Steep pitch thatched roof. Tall external chimneys
with diagonally set pots. The wings to garden front have gables with pierced
scalloped bargeboards, small canted bay window to ground floor. 5 windows with
bargeboard gabled half dormer to recessed part. Wood casements with French windows
on ground floor. Bargeboard gabled half dormers to rear. Picturesque.
