House. Early C19. Yellow stock brick, Flemish Bond, Welsh
slated roof over broad eaves with paired shallow brackets,
hipped over rear outshoot and range, yellow brick
chimneystacks. Central staircase plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. First floor has 3 recessed 12-pane sash
windows, under rubbed slightly cambered arches, with painted
stone sills. First-floor level plat band. Ground floor has 2
similar windows, either side of central doorway, with 6-panel
door, with raised and fielded panels with bolection moulded
surrounds, recessed with flanking fluted quarter Doric columns
below traceried fanlight with circle and petal motifs, all set
in double semicircular rubbed brick arched recess. 3 Portland
stone steps to door, floor level corresponding with line of
stucco plinth.
Rear elevation has French windows with large panes and margin
glazing at right. Rear outshoot forms a lower 2-storey range,
with 9-pane sashes on first floor and altered fenestration on
ground floor; this building is shared with No.17 adjoining
(qv).
