Gates, gate piers and walls at the
west entrance to Woodway House

Gates, gate piers and walls to the carriage entrance of
Woodway House (qv). Early C19. Painted render over red
sandstone rubble walls, Plymouth stone gate piers and
wrought-iron gates. The serpentine walls approx 2m high and
extending approx 9m to each side, are very thick with flat
coping. The tall gate piers have swept caps and ball finials.
The gates which sweep down to the centre have long/short
railings and cast-iron spearheads to the tops.
