House. C18. Painted roughcast, slate roof, no stacks. 2-unit
plan with C20 rear extension, originally with unheated room to
right of main heated room.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; almost symmetrical 2-window range. The
right-of-centre 7-panel door (3 panels to the base, glazed to
the top) is under a projecting porch of slender columns with
entasis and round caps which support a flat C20 roof. It is
flanked on both floors by C20 8-over-8-pane sash windows.
INTERIOR: the left-hand ground-floor room has a chamfered
crossbeam resting on the lintel of the window and a recess of
a former door in the left return. The room to the right has a
similarly-positioned boxed-in beam. To the centre rear is an
early C19 semi-elliptical arch with reeded moulding, possibly
a former recess, now access to the C20 kitchen.
