Gull Cottage
GV II
Two cottages, now house. Early C18, with early/mid C19 front
block. Stucco, partially incised, over timber frame to the
front, cob to the rear, slate roof of 2 ranges with ridges at
a right-angle to each other with stack to the rear left.
2-unit plan (formerly 2 one-room cottages).
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; one-window range. C20 window and door. To
the front of the left return is a bulge in the wall, possibly
a former stack or stair turret.
INTERIOR: the rear cottage is at a lower level, the walls are
approx 1.2m thick with a former open fire to the rear left
wall; the 2-bay roof has trenched purlins. The front cottage
is altered though there is evidence of a former staircase to
the rear of the former fire on the left-hand wall; the roof
has a ship's mast as a collar beam.
