House, now house and 7 flats. c1760-70, subdivided C20. Red
brick laid in header bond. Pantiled roofs.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys in 12-window range. Plinth course.
Entrance to right of centre within projecting 3-window bays
under pediment. Double-leaf 8-panelled and fielded door with
overlight. Doorcase has unfluted engaged Roman Doric columns
with block entablatures and pediment. Fenestration of C19 6/6
unhorned sashes (2 ground-floor left sashes without glazing
bars but with horns). Second-floor sash in 3rd bay from left
is C18. One blind ground-floor window and 5 blind first-floor
windows. First-floor platband. Moulded brick eaves cornice.
Gabled roof with 4 decorative ridge stacks. South gable head
with tumbling and a sundial face.
Rear elevation with, to right, a cast-iron 2-bay verandah. 2
Venetian windows to first floor with 2/2 and 6/6 glazing bars,
separated by a simple 6/6 unhorned sash. 2-storey rear wing in
3-window range: 6/6 unhorned sashes.
INTERIOR: closed-string staircase of 1920s, with twisted
balusters.
