House. C16. Timber-framed and rendered with a plaintiled roof.
L-shaped plan with a 2-storey gabled rear wing.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, jettied along the street frontage with
moulded supporting console brackets. Two 2-light small-paned
casement windows to the 1st storey; 3 C20 12-pane sash windows
in flush cased frames to the ground storey. C20 6-panel door.
A flat-roofed 2-storey rear block, in the angle of the front
range and the wing, has C19 brick to the ground storey and
render above.
INTERIOR: infilled cellar. The front range and the rear wing
are of the same mid-C16 date. Front range in 2 bays, divided
into 2 rooms. Main beams with chamfer and scroll stops exposed
and a section of plain unchamfered joists. Similar main beams
to the upper storey. No evidence of original studding along
the front wallplate. Cambered and plastered tie-beam to the
rear gable.
