Barn with attached oast. Barn late C17 with C19 alterations, oast added in mid
C19. Timber framed barn on brick and stone plinth, the exterior clad in corru-
gated iron sheeting. Mainly plaintiled roof but south west part pantiled.
South west has brick and tiled C19 lean-to pigsty. Double cart entrance.
Threshing barn of 5 bays, aisled to north east, the northern end originally
floored over. Southern end floored over in C19 to form a grain store. Frame of
good scantling with midrail and curved tension braces. Mainly jowled posts.
Angled queen strut roof with C19 rafters, thin purlins and ridgepiece. Face-
halved and bladed joints to wall plates. Central bay said to retain wooden
threshing floor. Attached to north west is mid C19 circular brick oast with
dentilled eaves cornice and conical roof without cowl and with fantail. This
retains its drying floor.
