C17, early C18, C19. Timber-flamed within, exterior is mostly early C18: 2
storeys and attic, 5 windows (the easternmost a 3-light sash replacing 2 former
windows). Red tile roofing, dropped centre section leading to rear catslide;
fully moulded modillion cornice. Painted brickwork. Sashes in exposed frames.
A modern 'Georgian' bow shop front to E & C Duke. The next is a mid C19 shop
front with 2 angular bay windows with cornice and other mouldings and details
of Gothic style. A long wing at the rear of No 77 is of 2 storeys, 6 windows,
with red tile roofing, red brick walling with 1st floor band and 4 upper leaded
lights in mullion and transom frames.
