CHIDDINGLY
THUNDER'S HILL
Thunders Hill Barn and outbuildings

(Formerly listed as: Rosemount Farm Barn and outbuildings (now part of Nash Street Farm))

II
Barn and outbuildings, all c.1800. Timber frame weatherboarded on brick plinth with half-hipped tile roof. Economical three bay structure in well-sawn timber. Wall panels and roof planes are all diagonally braced, the latter with long passing braces. Gunstock jowls to posts, arch braces to tie beams. The south east bay is divided off as a stable, with a transverse rail and more diagonal bracing. On the axis at the north west end, and perpendicular at the south east end are two lower tiled outbuildings in Flemish bond brickwork, partly obscured by later outshuts. These form an attractive ensemble with the barn.
