ST 96 SE POULSHOT BARLEY HILL LANE

4/180 Barley Hill Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse, early C19 red brick with low pitched slate roofs and
rear stacks, built around a rendered range possibly C17, with steep
hipped Bridgwater tile roof. Two-storey, 3-window east front with
ashlar plinth, brick angle piers framing recessed facade with
dentilled brick eaves. Twelve-pane sashes with gauged brick
heads. Central 6-panel door with traceried fanlight and gauged
brick arch set in mid C19 ashlar porch with thin pilasters and
cornice. North front, to road is similar 2-window range but with
centre and angle piers. Ground floor 12-pane sashes, first floor
blank window and C20 window. Similar one-window range to west
return. South-west rendered section has 3-window, 2-storey range
of casements, mostly C20.
