Farmhouse probably C16 in origin, timber-frame and painted brick with C18 red brick
casing to garden front. Plain tile roof with ridge stack and end wall stack. One
storey and attic. Entrance front has 2 dormers and ground floor largely timber-framed
at each end. The centre section is rebuilt in painted brick leaving timber uprights.
Left has timber framed porch and lean-to adjoining, centre has 2-light casement
chimney projection and 3-light casement with top lights, right has long tension brace
and 2-light window. left end wall is timber-framed, right end wall is brick. Garden
front has 2 large gabled dormers and cambered head openings to ground floor, central
door with dated brick over IB 1776, 2 windows each side, 2-light casements, one
blocked. In cellar heavy timbering with roll moulding to one upright and a doorhead,
probably later, dated 1674.
