Milestone. Probably C19. Doulting stone with cast iron plaque. Stone about
400mm wide and 250mm thick and some 600.0 tall, being well buried at base; moulded top showing recent impact damage. Plaque about 400mm wide and
500mm deep, with shouldered seni-cirular top and double ogee base, and
reads "Wincanton"-on curve-"2 Ilchester 11" in incised letters.
This road was maintained by the Wincanton Trust fron 1756.
