House and inn, now commercial premises. C17, altered C19.
Stucco front over timber-framing, old tiled roof. 2 storeys.
First floor has 2 flush sash windows with exposed boxes, and
modern leaded glazing, ground floor has carriageway at left,
central doorway with architrave surround, and flat hood with
moulded fascia raised on cut console brackets. C19 closed shop
window with small panes at right. Long rear outshoot,
timber-framed, plastered walls, with old tiled roof.
Formerly The George Inn, Great Amwell, not to be confused with
the better-known inn in High Street, Ware, of the same name.
