Early C19. Large red brick block with brick eaves cornice and hipped slate roof.
4 storeys, 6 windows in all, sashes with glazing bars, No 40 has small altered
C19 shop front, entablature with cornice'and architrave over modern shop bow window.
No 42 has very good mid/late C19 advanced shop front. Iron cresting above with
centre decorative feature and corner finials. Entablature with cornice and architrave.
Double shop front with elaborate spandrels. Iron pillars between lights, otherwise
modern glazing. Grade II* for No 42 shop front.
Nos 26 to 34 (consec) Nos 36 to 44 (consec) form a group.
