Late C18 - early C19. Originally one house. Slightly lower elevation than
No 26 and in recession. Hipped slate roof. Red brick. 3-storeys. Wide
front; 3 bays only. Sash windows, 4 panes wide, in brick reveals; rubbed
brick voussoirs. Ground floor of No 28 stuccoed; plate glass shop window
with fascia over; door to south of this. In 2 northermost bays, 2 sash
windows of similar style of those above; flanking house door of flush
panels. (2 central panels of door cut away and glazed). Rectangular fanlight
with 3 divisions over door; flush panelled reveals. Doorcase with fluted
Doric pilasters with frieze with raised diamond panels in centre and at
ends which break forward over pilasters; small flat hood with modillions
over.
