House and adjoining walls. c.1700 and C19. Designed by and built for Sir Thomas Parkyns of Bunny Hall. c.1700 house of red brick, some ashlar. Plain tile roof. 2 red brick ridge stacks. Brick coped gables with ashlar coped kneelers, single ashlar orb finials to kneelers and ridge. Raised eaves band, being ashlar at the corners and extending to the gable walls. First floor band extending to the left gable wall. Set on a plinth. Lobby entry plan. 2 storeys plus garret, 4 bays. Doorway with fielded panel and glazed door and panelled reveal. To the right is a single ashlar mullion 2 light casement and to the left 2 similar casements with 4 similar casements above. To the right is a lean-to. The right gable wall having a single similar casement on the first and garret floors with a dripmould over that of the garret. The left gable wall has a single similar casement on each floor, the garret also with dripmould. To the rear is a lean-to. Attached to the rear left of the house is a coped brick wall with arched domestic doorway and plank door. Extending from the right of the lean-to for about 1 metre is a C19 ashlar coped red brick wall terminating in a small brick pier with shaped and painted coping, extending from this in front of the house for about 21 metres is a low ashlar coped red brick wall topped with iron railings. This terminates in a single similar pier and is broken by a central gateway with iron gate and 2 painted piers topped with single orb finials. Interior has large chamfered beams with ogee stops, also reputed to have good late C18 fire grates. Sir Thomas Parkyns Bart. (c.1662-1741) carried out improvements to and rebuilt almost all of Bunny to his own designs.
