Terraced town house, now offices. 1913-16 for Mr G P Kent. Plan by Ralph Knott and
E Stone Collins, facade by EdmundWimperis, various alterations 1919 by Maples.
Portland stone ashlar, channelled at ground floor level. Slated roof with 2 rows of
dormers. Four storeys, attics and basement. Three windows. Plain square-headed
entrance with wooden double doors. Central bay projecting from ground floor to
second floor with coved returns. Recessed sashes; first floor architraved with
continuous cast iron balcony. Enriched band at second floor level; sashes
architraved. Entablature at third floor level with enriched frieze and projecting
cornice. Bracketted cornice above third floor with blocking course. Attached cast
iron railings to areas. Designer of interior not known but most rooms in florid
French and English C18 styles. Dramatic baroque stair, enclosed from ground to
first floor where landing has a bowed wrought iron balustrade with brass handrail,
but rising from here 3 storeys with an open well, once lit by a shaped lantern, now
blocked. Turned balusters with bulbous foliar bases. Included for group value. now
