- House

GV II

House, forms 1 property with Little House (q.v.) adjoining at East. C17,
possibly earlier. Whitewashed cob above rubble stone. Wheatreed thatched roof,
brick chimney at left gable end. Originally single depth plan, rear outshut
probably added C18/C19, C20 rear extensions. 2 storeys. 2 window front,
slightly recessed at right. Recessed plank front door with light, ground floor
windows to left and right of door each a C19 2-light casement, 6-panes per light.
2 similar first floor windows. Ground floor has 2 cross beams, C20 fireplace.
Shouldered, jointed timber arched doorway in outshut, possibly reused, circa late
C16. Principals visible in first floor rooms, 1 truss in recessed section has
curved feet, probably a raised cruck.
