Pair of town houses. c.1840; altered. Red brick in Flemish
bond, with sandstone dressings and slate roof. Double-depth
plan, each house single-fronted and with a back extension. Two
storeys over basement, 2+2 bays, symmetrical; stone plinth
(covered with concrete blocks at No.7), 1st floor sill-band,
plain frieze and moulded cornice. Designed as a reflected pair
with a shared through-lobby in the centre and the doorways in
the outer bays: these have doorcases with Ionic semi-columns
with entablatures and cornices, plain jambs with imposts, and
shallow elliptical fanlights, with a panelled to No.6 but a
modern board door to No.7; the lobby entry has a convex stone
surround with a cornice, and a board door. Each has 2 windows
on each floor, those at 1st floor aligned over the outer
openings at ground floor, all with wedge lintels and those at
ground floor with raised sills; those at No.6 sashed without
glazing bars, but those at No.7 altered as top-hung casements.
Central chimney stack. Altered surrounds to former cellar
areas. INTERIOR not inspected.
