Shop and office. Late C16. Timber-framed with exposed framing
and render. Gabled clay plain tile roof with gabled rear stair
tower. 2 storeys with attics. Front has one gabled dormer.
Elevation: first floor has contemporary frieze windows, each
of 5 lights with moulded mullions, either side of former oriel
window (the mortices for brackets and square sides are still
visible). In place of the oriel is a C20 3-light painted
casement window with leaded lights. Moulded bressumer exposed
on 2 original jetty brackets. Ground floor has old storey
posts reversed so that jowls face outwards, flanking C20
shopfront with brick stall riser. One small window with
rectangular leaded lights and door to offices over. Frieze of
plasterwork over shopfront was made from cast of old pargetted
decoration with bird and foliage. Rear elevation picturesque
with 2 phase brick stack adjoining stair tower and 1 gabled
dormer. Late C16 or early C17 timber frame with `A' frame side
purlin trusses and old (C17?) staircase in rear tower.
Cupboard with old panelling as doors.
