GV II
Congregational church, disused at time of survey (1987). Circa 1815 (Stell), built
for a church founded in that year, although the details look 1840s. Rendered,
probably cob; slate roof, gabled at ends with trefoil-pierced ridge tiles and shaped
bargeboards with tear-droped piercing.
Plan: Small rectangular building with a later brick porch lean-to adjoining the east
end.
Exterior: Single-storey. 3 windows to the south side, facing the road with rounded
heads and arched glazing bars of a Gothick character. Fixed 3 over 3 pane window in
the right return above the brick lean-to porch which has a C19 or C20 plank door on
the south side.
Interior: Not inspected but said locally to have been stripped out in the last 10
years.
