Circa 1842 on the site of an earlier well head of circa 1786. The original chalybeate
spring was described in 1931 by Dr Michael Stanhope. Octagonal pavilion of grit
stone ashlar with pilasters carrying cornice, with pierced parapet above. 3
windows and a doorway alternating with plain panelled sides. Round-arched windows
with architraves, 2 arched lights and pediment. Round-arched, architraved doorway
with console-bracketed pediment.
