Description


SK 43 SW PARISH OF ELVASTON AMBASTON LANE 2/14 (South Side) Ambaston Grange Farmhouse II Farmhouse. Late C18 with mid C19 additions, and C20 alterations. Red brick with C20 concrete tile roof, brick external gable stacks and a sawtooth eaves band. Two storeys plus garrets and three bays, plus long rear range. Central mid C19 gabled brick porch with bargeboards and pointed doorcase covers the original plain doorcase with panelled door and divided overlight, which is glazed with C18 bull's eye glass. To either side there are 3-light cambered headed casement windows and above there are three similar windows, that to centre originally slightly narrower. Above, in the roof is a C20 roof light. Interior has a stick baluster staircase with plain newel and scrolled cheekpieces.
