Terrace of 2 houses, now shops. From 1762, completed c1800,
partly rebuilt c1950. By Thomas Paty. Limestone ashlar, party
wall stacks and a pantile mansard roof. Double-depth plan.
Late Georgian style. Each of 3 storeys and attic; 3-window
range. Rusticated ground floor to No.51 with a C20 plate-glass
window, and a right-hand doorway with Doric pilasters,
triglyphs and pediment, fanlight and 6-panel door, C20 shop
front to No.53; banded upper pilasters, plat band, cornice and
parapet, and first-floor sill band. 6/6-pane sashes, and
paired dormers. INTERIOR not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached cast-iron railings to front
steps.
Park Street was severely damaged by c1940 bombing. No.51 is
the most complete survivor.
