Eastern Lodge to Alexandra Park

II

Eastern lodge to Alexandra Park. c1863. Coursed and rusticated
rubble in small blocks with ashlar dressings and hipped Welsh
slate roof. One-and-a-half storeys, 2-unit plan with entrance
porch projecting to the north. Italianate style, with
round-arched doorway and paired round-arched windows in the
porch, which has moulded console brackets above the string
course, and moulded cornice to parapet. Paired 2-light sash
window in end wall of lodge, with console brackets to
entablature over. Similar windows in 2-bay return elevation.
The building is articulated by rusticated ashlar quoins and a
central pilaster between the two windows. Semi-circular dormer
windows in roof. Moulded stone eaves cornice. Axial stack.
