TL 97 NE MARKET WESTON CORNER OF POND END LANE
AND THE STREET

House. Late C16, but with an altered older rear range. 2 storeys: L-shaped
form. Timber-framed and plastered, with traces of comb-pargetting in panels.
Black glazed pantiles. 2-light small-paned casement windows on the west
facade; C20 replacement casements on the south. The main range (fronting on
Pond End Lane) has a 2-cell internal chimney plan, with an added lean-to
extension at the north end. To the south of the stack, a 2-bay room with good
studding double roll-mouldings on the main ceiling beam and a single roll-
moulding on the joists, a blocked 5-light mullioned window on the front wall,
and another in the room above, which has an open truss with arched braces, one
removed. To the north of the stack, the timbering in plain. The rear range
has been raised; the older wallplate level is below the level of the present
upper windows.
