CLANFIELD BAMPTON ROAD SP2802-2902 (South side) 7/13 Dovecote approx. 20m SE of Northcourt 12.9.55 (Formerly listed as part of North Court Farmhouse and Dovecote) GV II

Dovecote/granary. Late C17 with minor later alterations. Roughly coursed limestone rubble with alternating angle quoins; stone slate roof with pyramidal-capped lantern. Square plan. Front gable has doorway on each floor with cat hole on first floor suggesting that it formerly had external steps. Interior. Plain ceiling beams and joists and wide floor boards. Trap door in first floor, which has corn bins. Ladder from first floor to second floor with wooden pigeon nesting boxes below lantern and central collar and tie bean truss.
