Description

STONHAM ASPAL PETTAUGH ROAD
TM 15 NE
6/184 Feoffee's Farmhouse
-
- II

Former farmhouse. Probable late-mediaeval core, with alterations of C17 and
mid C20. Main range of 2 storeys, the C17 cross-wing also having an attic.
Timber-framed and plastered. Plaintiled roof with axial chimney of red brick.
C20 small-paned sashes. Gabled porch with boarded entrance door. Believed to
be an open hall house of which only the hall survives, with heavy framing; a
chimney was placed in the cross-entry and the cross-wing added in place of
service cell in C17. Much mid C20 remodelling including 2-storey rear wing.
