Nos 2 and 3 Lock Cottages

Pair of cottages. Early C19. Yellow brick facade in Flemish bond, pantile
roof. Paired central doorways with overlights and segmental arches; to
outside of each a sash with glazing bars beneath flat-headed segmental arch.
1st floor: blind central window with projecting sill, outer bays as ground
floor. Cogged eaves. Brick end stacks. Rear: square-headed doorways and
horizontally-sliding sash windows. Associated with the nearby lock and canal
basin of the River Don Navigation which survive in altered form. Attached
dwelling known as No 1 Lock Cottages not of special interest.
